What ruins retention

The kill list

These eight things destroy retention. Avoid them and your map holds.

Oil-based anything

Makeup remover, moisturizer, sunscreen, serum — oil dissolves adhesive.

Sleeping face-down

Mechanical shear. Lashes bend, adhesive fractures, extensions shed.

Waterproof mascara

Removal requires oil. The wand pulls extensions. Just don't.

Lash curlers

Mechanical kink. Extensions snap at the base. Your natural lashes too.

Picking / pulling

One pulled extension takes 3–5 natural lashes with it. Permanent damage.

Heat / steam rooms

Sauna, hot yoga, opening oven — heat softens adhesive. 48h post-set = critical.

Skipping fills

Grown-out extensions twist natural lashes. Weight shifts. Breakage follows.

Cheap adhesive elsewhere

Foreign fills = unknown glue. Val can't warranty. +$20 remap fee.

Fill Schedule

Book the fill before you need it

The fill calendar is the retention ritual. Same map, new growth. Val remaps only where growth demands it.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I get them wet?
Yes — after 24 hours. Daily cleansing with lash foam is required for retention.
Can I wear mascara?
No. Mascara removal requires oil and mechanical action — both destroy adhesive.
Do they ruin my natural lashes?
Not when mapped correctly. Correct weight, correct isolation, correct aftercare = healthy naturals.
How long do they last?
Natural lash cycle is 60–90 days. Fills at 2–3 weeks keep the map intact indefinitely.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
Yes — adhesive is formaldehyde-free. Patch test recommended. Disclose at booking.
What if I have a reaction?
Rare. Val carries medical-grade remover. Removal is immediate and free if reaction occurs.
Can I bring my own music?
Absolutely. The studio is quiet by default. Your playlist, your volume.
Do you do bottom lashes?
Yes — as an add-on. Book time for it. Adds 20–30 minutes.
